Copyright Registration
Copyright can be defined as a set of rules relating to literary and artistic activity. That is, the rights given to creators for their literary, artistic and scientific works.
Copyright essentially comprises literary works, plays, computer programs (software), databases, films, musical works, and works of art and architecture, among other intellectual creations.
In Colombia, copyright is mainly regulated by Decision 351 of the Andean Community of Nations and the Law 23 of 1982 (modified by Law 1915 of 2018).
For a work to be copyrightable it must be original. The works to be copyrighted are protected by their very creation and registered for declaratory effect at the Dirección Nacional de Derecho de Autor del Ministerio del Interior.
