Types of Marks

What can one register?; What kinds of marks exist?

Words, combinations of words, pictures, figures, symbols, graphics, logos, monograms, portraits, labels, and other signs are capable of registration.

The most important types of marks are:

Word marks: These are letters or numbers that are readable and pronounceable whole.

Example:

Marcas denominativas

Figurative marks: These are composed entirely of a figure or a set of graphic elements that are not pronounceable.

Example:

Marcas figurativas

Mixed marks: Those that constitute the combination of one or more word elements and one or more figurative elements.

Example:

Marcas mixtas

Three-dimensional marks: Those who hold the three dimensions of space and are in the form of products and their packaging.
